2009 Santa Fe Science Writing Workshop

While there is no official deadline, we urge you to apply early if you want a single room at the conference center or a particular instructor.

Step 0. Read the FAQ.

Step 1. Please fill out and submit our online form.

Here is the contact information:

Santa Fe Science Writing Workshop
P.O. Box 1442
Santa Fe, New Mexico 87504-1442
fax and emergency voicemail: (267) 295-8526

Step 2. Please follow up with a short email describing yourself and why you want to attend.

Step 3. We will begin processing the first batch of applications in February and will get back to you by email with a decision. Upon notice of acceptance, you will be asked to pay for tuition and lodging online by credit card or by mailing a check (drawn on an American bank and payable to Santa Fe Science Writing Workshop) to the above address. To reserve your place we will need to receive payment within 30 days. To reduce paperwork, we ask for payment in full upon acceptance. If that is not possible, please pay the tuition up front and the balance by May 1.

If your employer is paying the workshop costs, please print out a copy of our payment instructions to include with your budget request. Since we do not have an office manager or support staff, we ask that all communication be by email.

Step 4. We will pass along your lodging information to the registrar at Ghost Ranch Santa Fe. (Remember if you are not staying there, you will still need to pay the center's commuter fee.)

If there are openings after May 1, those accepted will be asked to pay in full before the first day of the workshop.

You are welcome to bring along a spouse or friend. If they are sharing your private room at the conference center, the additional lodging cost is $275 for the duration of the workshop. This includes breakfast and lunch. (For alternatives, see the list of bed and breakfasts on the FAQ.)

Cancellation policy: Cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee. No refund can be given after May 1, unless we can fill the position from the waiting list.

Thanks very much. We look forward to meeting you.
