In addition to the founders, Sandra Blakeslee and George Johnson, we will be joined by

• Katie Hafner, a writer about science and technology for the New York Times and the author of five nonfiction books, including her recent memoir Mother Daughter Me;

• Michelle Nijhuis, co-editor of The Science Writers’ Handbook and an environmental writer whose work appears in National Geographic, The Atlantic, the New York Times Magazine and High Country News; and

• Joe Palca, a science correspondent for National Public Radio, who also has worked as a print journalist for Science and Nature.

We’ll begin taking applications as soon as we finish updating the website.

The 2020 workshop will begin on Monday evening, May 4, and run through Saturday morning, May 9, at the Inn of the Governors in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico. We hope to announce the names of the instructors by the end of September, which is when we will begin taking applications.
