April 1 is the final day that the hotel will hold rooms for our discounted block. Here again are the instructions:
To receive the hotel’s discounted rate, it is important to reserve your room at Inn of the Governors (http://www.innofthegovernors.com/) by calling 800-234-4534. (Because of the special rate, reservations cannot be made online.) The deadline for the discount is April 1, 2018, but please don’t wait. There are only a certain number of rooms reserved for our block. Tell the reservations clerk that you will be attending the Santa Fe Science Writing Workshop. They will ask for a credit card number to hold your room, but it won’t be charged until you check in next May. Let us know if you have any problems.
If you have decided instead to stay offsite, please remember to pay the $155 commuter fee to cover breakfasts and lunches during the workshop.
We look forward to seeing you in May.

We’ve added the following note to the website to help with federal per diem calculations:
Note for federal employees: The rate at the hotel, including taxes and two meals, breakfast and lunch, is $169 a night. Before taxes that comes to $146.56. For those staying offsite, the commuter fee to cover breakfasts and lunches is $155 for five days or $31 per day. Subtract that and the daily rate is effectively $115.56, which is less than the government lodging per diem of $119 (before taxes) for Santa Fe.
